Project Pink

Now through the end of October, Munchkin is playing a small part in helping moms focus on their own health by putting a spotlight on breast cancer prevention. Project Pink is a program that raises money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and reminds moms, “don’t duck a breast exam.”

Here are some ways you can be a part of this campaign:

• Email A Duck, Raise A Buck – This viral component enables individuals to email friends a virtual duck that reminds them to participate in routine breast exams. Users may track their ducks as they get forwarded around, and in turn, Munchkin will donate $0.05 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure for every duck forwarded.

• Buy Your Own Duck – Created to be a visual reminder of routine breast exams, Munchkin’s 2008 limited edition Project Pink Bath Ducks will be available online and at select retailers nationwide for $3.00. One hundred percent of the net profits from the sale of these ducks will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

• Celebrity Duck eBay Auction – Celebrity participants, from Courteney Cox to Matthew McConaughey, have shown support of Project Pink by donating hand-decorated and autographed limited edition ducks. Each week in October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a number of celebrity-decorated ducks will be available for auction exclusively on eBa,y with all proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

So, whether you buy a pink duck or simply spread the word, you can help Munchkin help moms stay healthy so we can continue being great parents.

FRIDAY NIGHT TIP & A WINDOW INTO MY LIFE!

Hi Everyone! Well, it has been a crazy week for me..I am so excited. I have been asked to be an Editor on MomLogic.com for all of the Michigan community. Along, with my friend Claire from http://www.bitsfromabrit.blogspot.com/. We are going to be bringing you all kinds of contests, information and parenting tips. We are also throwing a HUGE benefit for the GAL TO GAL Foundation and http://www.designhergals.com/ on October 18th. And will be bringing you more details so that you can join us in the virtual walk for Stage IV Breast Cancer.

So this is just a quick peek into my life...since I have a wonderful eye infection and need to turn this laptop off and go to bed. Well, every Saturday morning, I vacuum my living room....we have crappy old carpet and it needs it like every other day. Well, everytime I vacuum Korbyn wants to help me and when I try to take back the vacuum he throws a tantrum. I think it is so cute and this is only a minor tantrum..but I find it funny. He is my little honey and I can't wait to show him these videos later in life. I hope you enjoy it. Leave me a comment if you like my tip?

Busy, but fun, times!

There's some exciting things happening with our Mommies....

Christine was featured on Good Day Sacramento, one of the best features we have all yet to see. Also, you have got to check out her super star moment! But, she is leaving for vacation so I will try to get some things done around this place.

In the meantime I will be guest posting on From Dates To Diapers and beyond on Sunday, so come over and see what I have to say.

Amanda also is absent due to her big move, and I myself go back to school next week. It's been a long journey but I'm going to do it!

Window Into Our Lives

Welcome to an all new feature here at Mommies United!

We are going to start an all new weekly feature here at Mommies United. A Window In To Our Lives is going to be a special as our readers are. By "window" we mean that you too can share a moment, video, picture, or special post with us. It must be a personal post that gives us a peak into your life!

This week is special you can take a peak into Shanda's life as she meets Hannah Montana!

My window is simple this week. Call my home at any point during the day and there will at least be one complaint about my dog Neleh. She's quite the dog from chewing on glass, to the infamous Attack Of The Roomba. While at times I can't deal with her spazzing out, or finding every roll of toilet paper in the house and tearing it into pieces she's a very special part of our family. With all my complaints I still look at her and love her just the same.

My window is a video and picture of Neleh (don't mind Kai's hair she chopped it off a few weeks ago, that's a whole other story) While she has her moments to me this is super cute you can see just how all over the place Neleh is. She is smart I swear!

This picture is Neleh in all her glory, she actually slept like that for an hour. I tried waking her up to get her out of her "doggie jail" but she slept like a dog. She often naps in her "jail" but never like this.

Just another reason for me to smile about my daily life.

OMG! I MET HANNAH MONTANA LAST NIGHT!

You are not going to believe it?? I met Hannah Montana last night, and I caught it all on my FLIP camera! I went to put Nevaeh to bed last night and POOF....Hannah Montana appeared and I found myself at a Hannah concert!!! LOOK SEE FOR YOURSELF! I am so cool! LUCKY ME!
