Fabulous Tip Friday

Well, I hope everyone is ready for the weekend! I know I am and I am ready for some fun in the sun with my kids. So today is our "Fabulous Tip Friday," and I haven't been getting the tips from all of our readers like I thought I would! Come on everyone...I want to hear about them. So we thought we would sweeten the pot and thanks to our awesome sponsor KABOOST, you can win a great prize this time. So if you would like to win a Kaboost for your own home then this is what you need to do to win. Yes, 1 winner will win a Kaboost of their own!

Check out this video about Kaboost!

1. Leave 2 of your best tips about anything that will make our lives better or easier. (Leave it in the comments)

2. Post about this contest on your blog or site. If you don't have a site..email at least 5 friends and thell them about it. (and copy us on the email)

So in the comments you need to list the 2 tips, a link to your post and your email address. If you do not have all of them..we cannot count your entry.

Contest will run until July 4th, 2008! 12:00pm Est.
So I thought I would post my tips!
1. If you collect a lot of to go menus like I do, then give them a 3 hold punch and stick them altogether in a 3 ring binder and label it Menus! Then you know right where to go when you don't feel like cooking!
2. Take some full body shot pictures of family members and them laminate them. Cut them and put magnets on the back of them for a fun game for your kids. Put them on the frig and have them guess who the person is. Works best with young kids.
3. Nevaeh has been a stinker lately when putting her to bed. She tells me she is not tired. So I told her I would get the MAGIC SLEEPING POWDER out for her. She thought that was really cool! So I grab the powder everynight and sprinkle it over her while I sing a song to the angels to protect her. It works like a charm! Another idea is to buy a salt shaker from the dollar store and fill it with the baby powder! Label it Magic Sleeping Powder for an added touch!

Spot cleaning will be the topic of my two tips!
1) Baby wipes are great for clean ups. They remove crayon marks from my table. I am potty training my last one now but I will still keep the baby wipes around!
2) Magic Erasers! I love them. I had PERMANT marker marks on my counter tops and it took it off! I have also used one to take crayon marks off of furniture.

I am going right now to add this contest to my blog! Have a happy week-end!!! :o)

Oh I'd love one of these!

My two tips are - take digital photos of kids' schoolwork and artwork so that you can preserve them without having to deal with the clutter or overfill your storage spaces. Also, my friend swears by the OxyClean Baby spray wash for getting stains out - it did take bloodstains out of her son's blanket with no problem! :)

I'm adding this to my contests page on my review blog at http://momstakeonthings.com/?page_id=6.

I don't really need a Kaboost - but it's such a fabulous gadget!! I'm sure my best-friend would love it!!

My two tips:

1) When flying with my daughter - I bring pipe-cleaners... we have a lot of fun 'sculpting' things and playing with pipe-cleaner dolls and animals on the tray table - then we just throw them away at the end of the flight.

2) My MIL's tip that she used on my husband and works - we told the kiddo that monsters HATE the smell of popcorn. Pop a bag of popcorn a week, put it in a bowl on the nightstand by her bed. Right before bed, if it's really bad, she will eat a piece or two so that she has popcorn breath to keep the monsters away. :)

Tip 1: After using re-usable canvas shopping bags, be sure to return them to the car or leave an extra stash in there, this way eliminating the usage of plastic bags at your favorite retailer, I also use the bags for carrying my son's beach towel, sunscreen, toys, coloring books, etc in..

Tip 2:
Do invest in a bungee type cup holder, these are great for when your child decides to drop or launch his cup in the car, when in the stroller, even in a shopping cart! You can hook it to anything!

Those have been my lifesavers as of lately!

Ooooh I'd love one of those! Here are my tips:

-Use equal parts baking soda and water to create a mildly abrasive cleaner. I used this to clean my microwave the other day... it was so much easier than any other product I've tried before, and deoderized at the same time!

-Write for more than one blog? Then check out a program called Windows Live Writer! You can write blog posts offline, for mutiple blogs (and tons of blog platforms). It gives you great editing options for your font and photos, allows you to ping, add trackbacks and more. I couldn't write for the 3 regular blogs that I write for plus the occasional others without it!

HTH someone!

My best two tips on how to make life easier are:
If you've got small nail holes on white walls and don't want to repaint, fill them with some white toothpaste.
If your kids leave hard to remove stickers on the furniture, cover the stickers in mayonnaise for ten minutes to loosen.
Thanks for the fun giveaway!

Wow! These are some great ideas!
1) Convert your garage into an art studio then you don't have to worry about what cleans what.
2) Convert over to GREEN chemicals so that you don't have to arrange for someone to watch your child or clean during nap times. I've recently tried Green Works and Seventh Generation and I have been please with both. Your lungs will thank you~

1) When you need to freeze hamburger meat into pounds, roll flat first. It takes up almost no space in the freezer, then when you need it, it will be evenly defrosted in 3 minutes!
2) Keep an extra kiaper or two with wipes and an extra outfit in your trunk!!! You'll need it at least once.

1. Always line baking dishes with foil before filling with food to cook. When you're finished with the dish, pull out the foil, throw it away, and no baked on crud to scrub off.

2. Use your DVR to record the TV shows you allow your kids to watch. That way they only have those to choose from, and when the day's shows are watched, the TV goes off.

To make life easier:
1. Pray every day...it will automatically start your day of better.

2. Keep a backpack in your car that STAYS in the car with things like spare diapers a Ziploc of wipes, tissues, bandaids, a bottle, sunscreen, extra underwear for you and the kids and a onsie for baby. You never know when you'll need them BUT when you do they'll be there! You're bound to forget the diaper bag one day!

I emailed friends...don't know how to make a link yet....I stink at computers!

I stole this one from a hotel; I keep unused trash bags in the bottom of the can so when I remove a full bag it is quick and easy to replace it with a new bag.

Also; I don't like to carry diaper bags but I keep a fully stocked bag in my car for emergencies. Wipes, diapers, change of clothes and clean cups for drinks.

Two Tips:

1. Taking a long trip with todlers or older? Buy disposable cameras or the inexpensive digital cameras and have a special game of "I SPY" Give each child a list of items and tell them they can not take pictures of the same items. Ex. Colors, shapes, numbers, nouns, action verbs. This really is ageless.

2. Have a little one still using bottles? How do you pack their bottles in the diaper bag? I like to REUSE my plastic tea (Mt. Dew) bottles, I make up three bottles and then funnel them into the plastic bottle. I take one already made bottle. This gives me a total of 4 premade bottles and is SO much easier than mix and making while away from home.

1. Use cloth diapers as burp clothes. They are much cheaper and work MUCH better!!!!
2. When a baby has diaper rash, let them go naked for as long as possible. Air is the best remedy for diaper rash!

Here are a few of my tips!
1. I am a major candle lover and can't even tell you how many times I have spilled wax on my carpet. This is what I do to get it out. I put a brown paper bag over the wax and run my hot iron over it a few times. Works everytime!

2. If you have a problem with ants on your countertops, wipe it down with a scented dryer sheet. It always works for me!

A few tips from a working mom:
1. Magic Eraser! For a quick clean of the kitchen they work miracles!
2. The housework will always wait; a messy house means a happy child. Spend time with your kids without worrying about everything you need to get done!

1) I always had a balloon tied to the changing table. I had a squirmy, wormy little girl that didn't like being changed. But a balloon always kept her interest and kept her happy while being changed. They have them in my check-out aisle in the grocery store so there was no need for a special trip to get them.

2) When starting dinner I put my daughter's dishes in the freezer. When it's time to serve the food, I put her food on the cold plates. This cuts away from cooling down time for the food- she doesn't have to wait as long for it to get to safe, cool temperature.

1. use backpack instead of diaper bag, easier to use, less cumbersome and you can use again afterwards

2. always keep a stash of diapers, wipes, and also snacks in the car...just in case

1. I keep a bag in the car that I throw cool dollar store items and washable markers in. We call it the restaurant bag and my girls love seeing the little surprises so much that they are very well behaved wherever we take them.

2. I mix fruit babyfood and plain yogurt and freeze them in popsicle molds to make a yummy treat for a hot summer afternoon.

I will cc you in on my email. Thanks for the giveaway- the Kaboost looks like the perfect thing for my petite 4 year old. The poor think can hardly see her plate but is too embarrassed to sit in a "baby booster".

Make Popsicles with white grape juice or white cranberry juice. That way when your little one drips Popsicles on their clothes the drip dries clear with no stain.

To protect little knees when drawing with chalk have them kneel on garden knee pads. My girls love using them to kneel or just sit on.

My son's basketball coach suggested this for smelly shoes-fill a tube sock with kitty litter, tie end and place in shoes over night. I keep a small first aid kit in the car which includes baby wipes that are handy for so many things
