Window Into Our Lives

Welcome to an all new feature here at Mommies United!

We are going to start an all new weekly feature here at Mommies United. A Window In To Our Lives is going to be a special as our readers are. By "window" we mean that you too can share a moment, video, picture, or special post with us. It must be a personal post that gives us a peak into your life!

This week is special you can take a peak into Shanda's life as she meets Hannah Montana!

My window is simple this week. Call my home at any point during the day and there will at least be one complaint about my dog Neleh. She's quite the dog from chewing on glass, to the infamous Attack Of The Roomba. While at times I can't deal with her spazzing out, or finding every roll of toilet paper in the house and tearing it into pieces she's a very special part of our family. With all my complaints I still look at her and love her just the same.

My window is a video and picture of Neleh (don't mind Kai's hair she chopped it off a few weeks ago, that's a whole other story) While she has her moments to me this is super cute you can see just how all over the place Neleh is. She is smart I swear!

This picture is Neleh in all her glory, she actually slept like that for an hour. I tried waking her up to get her out of her "doggie jail" but she slept like a dog. She often naps in her "jail" but never like this.

Just another reason for me to smile about my daily life.

OMG! I MET HANNAH MONTANA LAST NIGHT!

You are not going to believe it?? I met Hannah Montana last night, and I caught it all on my FLIP camera! I went to put Nevaeh to bed last night and POOF....Hannah Montana appeared and I found myself at a Hannah concert!!! LOOK SEE FOR YOURSELF! I am so cool! LUCKY ME!

Well, you guys asked for it..more personal stuff from us!! I hope you enjoyed my playtime with my little AMERICAN IDOL.

SOOOOO! My Fabulous Friday tip is......help your children use there imagination by playing pretend or dress up. Its great for you and your child! Not to mention it's a blast!!!

Friday!

I just wanted to share my HOT ATOMIC SHRIMP recipe with you! I was trying to be funny and make the hottest recipe I could for my hubby, since he is a HOT SAUCE JUNKIE! Well, it turns out that he loves it and wants it at least once a week. CRAZY! This stuff is so fricken hot it makes you cough and your eyes tear! :)

My tip this week is my recipe and that finding something that hubby loves can make life even more fun. I can't believe how his eyes light up when I talk about food. It is true that a way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Enjoy the recipe!!!

A Peak into a Homeschool Family's School

School for a homeschool family can look very different on any given day.

Take for instance my twins' history lesson today... Tonight after dinner, Daddy told them the story of young Martin Luther and his conversion to Christianity. Daddy engaged the boys' imaginations and took them on a journey back in time over 500 years. They asked questions, they interjected their 2-cents, and even chuckled and gasped at different parts of the story. Did they learn anything? Heck yeah. Can they tell you all about Martin Luther? You bet!

Or, how about how Julia is learning to read better and better each day... She is teaching her younger brothers what each letter of the alphabet looks like and sounds like, she writes notes to Daddy to give him when he gets home from work, and spends close to an hour every day "playing" with her LeapFrog TAG.

And so, we're learning in school, with our first week back just about over. But, did my kiddos ever really stop learning?

This past week not only did Samantha start Kindergarten, but Sarah started pre-school.

At first I was little skeptical because she is only 22 months but I am so surprised at how much she already learned in ONE WEEK!

In school they are learning about shapes. For the past few days she has been pointing to everything that is shaped as a circle and telling us "circle"

Our children are learning so much every day!

Even Kai is learning to write her name!

Welcome to Mommies United Back to School Event!
