Start the day off right

Did you know that children who eat breakfast do better in school? That's one of the reasons we need to make sure our kiddos get the most important meal of the day. If not for breakfast, our kiddos would run low on fuel long before lunch time.

Most of my kiddos love fruit, but others just never cared for it (unless it was dried), until recently... Fruit bowls, from Dole, are a great way to serve the young ones.

Not sure if your kids are fans of the Madagascar movie, but Marty, our favorite star zebra, will be in a new movie called Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa – coming early this November. You can order your very own Marty Snack Pack - A Limited Edition insulated Marty Snak Pak, perfectly fit for Dole Fruit Bowls for on-the-go snacking fun. It is super cute.

Looking to save time and win money? Check out Dole Way to Snack you can get easy, NO COOK, healthy snacking recipe ideas and vote for your favorite recipe daily to have a chance to win $100 each week!

My kiddos are big cereal eaters. They were happy to try General Mills, Inc. new Cocoa Puffs Combos — a cereal combining vanilla and chocolate puffs. The new product marks General Mills’ first flavor extension to the Cocoa Puffs line since the brand launched in 1958.

"Kids love to mix together chocolate and vanilla, two of their favorite flavors," said Scott Dorman, associate marketing manager for General Mills. I know mine certainly like this yummy combination!

Added bonus: Cocoa Puffs Combos have at least 8 grams of whole grain per serving.

Yoplait Kids yogurt contains Omega-3 DHA, a nutrient that helps support healthy brain development. Now that it's time again to hit the books, brain power is essential.

PhotobucketHere are some more healthy facts about Yoplait Kids yogurt:

  • It has 25 percent less sugar than the average leading kid’s yogurt and contains no artificial sweeteners or flavors.
  • Yoplait Kids is an excellent source of calcium and a good source of vitamins A and D.

Make sure you get your $1.50 Off Yoplait coupon to save!

Our friends at Cupcake Cuddles have some adorable items. Our favorite is the Flipper Toothbrush Holder. The Flipper toothbrush holder is a fun solution for storing toothbrushes easily and hygienically. The design is simple to use, and easy to maintain. With the toothbrush held by its handle, a gentle pull will “Flip” open the cover and simply pushing it back, the Flipper will close back on itself, neatly housing your toothbrush again!

So, before your kiddos head out the door to catch the bus, make sure they brush their teeth and store their brushes in these adorable holders!

Having my daughter (15 months ago) was one of the best things that has happened
in my life. She is my inspiration and I love being a mommy. But I
soon found out that babies are
expensive! Cupcake Cuddles was started because I wanted to
offer people a place to find affordable baby gifts and more. Our super
soft blankets are a favorite for babies and kids because they offer something
soft to cuddle up with. Another highlight of our store has been the
Flipper toothbrush holders. They are fun, unique and kids love them!
But adults shouldn't be shy...they can get one for themselves too!

Here is a coupon code your readers can use to get 10% off all Flippers at Cupcake Cuddles: back2school (expires 12/31/08)

Would you like to know what you can win? I thought so!

  • One winner will receive a months supply of Dole coupons (that's 7 coupons!)!

  • Five winners will receive a coupon for a free box of Cocoa Puff Cereal.

  • Three of you will each win a Yoplait Gift Pack. Each gift pack will include free coupons, travel coolers and Brainquest games

  • One winner will receive a Flipper Toothbrush Holder of their choice from Cupcake Cuddles!

To enter to win ONE of the above TEN prizes, just leave us a comment on this post stating how you get your day off right.

(Invalid comments will not qualify - Make sure that you have read and are following our Contest Guidelines.)

Having everything ready the night prior really helps a lot so that we aren't scrambling around in the morning! Bath time the night before, clothes sat out and bags ready. This way, we can all sit down to breakfast together before everyone heads out the door.

Hmm, how do I get my day off right? Does the snooze button count? Seriously though, the little man is up and about early and if he doesn't get fed, a horrible cranky monster takes the place of my sweet little guy, so we always start the day off with a good breakfast!
Great giveaway, we would definately be excited about any of the prizes!

The secret to a smooth morning start is preparation the night before. Lunches are packed and waiting in the refrigerator, clothes are picked out, backpacks are checked and papers to return to school are signed, and breakfast is already planned. The night-before preparations really make mornings smooth and easy. Have a great school year!

Another sweet giveaway. Please count me in for your draw. :)

This may sound kind of corny, but the way I love to start each day off is with a big hug and kiss from each of my daughters (age 2 and 5). It fills me with happy butterflies. And it reminds me how blessed I am, and that I can take on anything that comes up throughout the day, because I have them in my life. =D

Her breakfast is always at the same time, and as she is eating, I'll get her clothes out. Everone has a different morning schedule. My husband leaves at 6:00, my son at 7:30. My daughter's schedule varies day to day - first class is either 8:45, 9:45 or 10:30. Me - I have to get everyone up on time, get my son to catch his bus, and drive my daughter to class. Once everyone is gone, I hit the gym.

So, morning is rather chaotic around here. I don't forsee that changing.

I start my day off right by having juice, toast or bagel and yoga. I have ny children's things prepared for school from the night before. I make sure they eat a nutrious breakfast at school. garrettsambo@aol.com
