I have no little chickens of my own, but I am not ready for my niece and nephew to go back. it is SO GREAT to pick them up and spend the day with them, have them for sleepovers. Once baseball was done we got to "party" whooowhooo! they grow up so fast. now I have turned into my mom. I must go take a shot of tequila to redeem myself.
No. I homeschool so it will get busier for me in a couple of weeks. It's worth it, though and it's what works for my family. I will miss being able to sleep in :)

Well, I can speak freely here since my son is not in the habit of visiting mommy blogs. I am TERRIFIED; he starts middle school this year and he is a child that marches to a different drummer. That's okay in elementary but middle school is when crap hits the fan.

Their first day of school was yestwrday but it was cancelled due to hurricane Faye. I just came back from the bus stop and I think they and I were all ready!
Prepared? yes, my kids have been in school since July 21. Their school supplies on the other hand were NOT prepared. I have yet another item to return this week!
We dont do much for the first day of school. It is still warm enough to wear summer clothes and we cant buy supplies until we know what is needed for each class. The kids have always wanted a school type lunch even in the summer so my larder is ready to pack their sacks. Yes I did buy the sacks.

Since this was my little man's first year of pre-school, I really didn't know what to expect! I soon found out that though I was physically ready, I was NOT AT ALL mentally ready for this!LOL! Seeing my little man walk cautiously into his classroom and then run back and attach himself to my legs was almost more than I could bear! I left with big tears in my eyes, and almost didn't make it to the car before the BIG, UGLY cry hit!LOL! We did make it through though and I think that once we get into the routine, we will both enjoy our days!

Yes, prepared. I try not to stress about it. If I havent found one thing off the list, I dont sweat. I will find it adventually. And we dont do new clothes all before school starts. I find it easier to wait and then the kids have time to fall into their grove again and their styles and tastes change so quickly that its better to see what the new "in" thing will be.

I feel prepared school started already and I had everything ready to go had one day of school the Tropical Strorm Fay came for a visit so to felt like the first day of school again. Everything went great!

My son is too young for school, but I work in an art museum and will likely be putting in some part time hours there this fall. I try every year to help get my grandkids ready for school. I help with supplies and clothes. But, it seems like every year as soon as they get to class, they come home with another list of supplies beyond the one that is posted. So then it is back to the store and hoping everything is in stock.

This year I got my kid's lists early and bought all of the loss leader sales that were on their lists at various stores. It took time and patience, but I got everything they needed for pennies on the dollar! They also used leftovers from last year such as backpacks and partially used composition books. Teachers always want composition books, and most of the time they are barely used. Why is that?

Well I actually went back to school shopping for the kiddos today. YEah I waited until the last minute but with our finances we had to wait until we could afford it. I feel mostly ready, just a few more things for middle son and I'm done!

As far as supplies goes, absolutely prepared, even have extas and I buy things for the classroom(s) so that if a child doesn't have something, the teacher can just give it to them. Emotionally, NO WAY! This was always hard for me with my children, I thought it would be easier with my grandchilfren but I was so wrong.

I would love the jeans! Darling! It is crazy, my boys (11 & 9) have been back to school for four weeks and I am just starting my 2 1/2 year old in preschool! Are you ever prepared for school?

Our family is prepared. My twin boys are starting high school and football. Both made the team. But still...lots of nerves going on!!
I home school using a virtual public school and no, I am not prepared!
As prepared as I'll ever be. We stopped today to get a new pair of tennis shoes for gym and one more folder. School starts Monday and neither one of us are prepared to get up early again; we've spent the summer sleeping in and staying up late. It's going to be rough getting back in the morning groove.
I thought I was, but on the first day both my kids came home and said they needed additional items for several classes. I am ready for the them to start into their routines and hopefully we won't have the fights we had last year with homework.
School started Aug 18 here and i think we were pretty well prepared. The county had some serious bus issues, but it seems things are fixed for the most part.

Not at all!! He's only two!! But, I do plan to focus more on learning activities with him so that when the time comes, he will be ready (not sure that I'll be ready for that first day of school though!!).

Feel prepared? Yes and no. Yes because they have all that they need. No because I do not want them to be gone for hours and the grind of the school schedule which leads into the grind of evening schedule. I will miss them when they start school this coming week.
My daughter isn't school-age yet (but she's close). It's going to be one of the hardest things to do, dropping her off at kindergarten. I will bawl my eyes out.

We're ready at our house. My sons are in 5th and 8th grades this year, and have already started back. The school year is off to a good start.
Five of the six have already started school but we only got the bare essentials. This would definitely be a real blessing! Thanks for the opportunity!!! :D

Ugh. No, I am never prepared for them to go back. Usually I'm prepared as far as "stuff" goes, but never emotionally prepared. We re-bond during the summer and then it's gone again during the school year. I hate it.
Yes, I do feel prepared this year. We had a long summer break, and we really had time to relax and get everything ready.
As a homeschooling mom, I'm not ever sure if I'm completely prepared to start "officially" teaching my kiddos again. This year, I feel a bit more at peace than I have in the past. :)

Since this is our first year at school I think I am ready. I am currently working on organizing my house to help the day to day activities go smoothly at home. As far as school stuff, we have the items that her teacher has asked for and some cute school clothes...we will see if that works :)
With school starting next week, I can say that I am prepared to have them go back to school. All supplies, lunch money in their accounts, photo money (they are taking my sons photos the first day of school,yikes!) everything is ready and good to go. Thank goodness!

We have almost all our supplies, but this is the kindergarten for my oldest and the first year of preschool for my baby. So technically I'm ready, but it's going to be rough for me at first!
We school nearly year round. So, I'm most always prepared. But, really look forward to the breaks!
Even though we homeschool, I have to get all my school supplies ordered and here so I can feel confident to start this coming year off. I am mostly ready and we've been going strong for a month now but I always tend to add stuff like extra curricular activities like art supplies. Thanks!

Prepared for him to in terms of supplies and his emotional readiness? Absolutely! Prepared in terms of filling the void while he's in Pre-K? Not a chance...I'm going to miss my little punkin', but I know he'll have a ball!
I will miss my boys but they were so ready to go back and have fun during the day instead of being with boring ole mom swimming all summer! Kids!

My second grader has been back in school for over a week, and I felt pretty prepared for him to go back. My four year old is back in daycare for now, but preschool starts next week...prepared, but but can't believe this is his last year of preschool!!
I think so. Last year there was just one in school - this year there are 2. Things are more hectic but I feel that I got things organized enough the weekend before we started.

School is actually year-round for my 2-year-old daughter because she is in daycare. At first it was hard getting prepared for her first day there in terms of finding the right routine so we can get out of the apartment on time, but after a year or so of practice, I feel I have it down.
