For this Friday's Fabulous Tip...we would like you to give us your tips or comments on what you would like to see on Mommies United. What do you look for when you find a site you like? What keeps you coming back? In otherwords if you were us...what would you add or delete from our site to make it the best site out there! Let us know your thoughts by leaving us a comment.

One thing I look for is reliability. Does the site do what it says it will do? Is it updated on a consistent basis? I visit Mommies United daily but I generally find that it is not updated daily. I will see 3 or 4 reviews added all in a row, then I will not see anything posted for days. I see contests that don't end when stated, winners aren't listed when stated, etc. I like the site and the premise is good, (having 4 mothers contributing) but it's not updated consistently. And, I think it might do the companies an injustice when only 1 out of 4 mommies post their thoughts on a product, rather than the 4 they might expect. I know it usually comes later, but later might be too late. Readers might not check back especially when the post gets bumped to the next page. I like the header graphics, maybe the colors could be brighter. I also think a running list of products you have reviewed would be helpful, all on the front page. That way we don't have to scroll to past (older) posts to search for a product review, we can just click on the name of the product and jump to the review automatically.

Hmmm, because I have over 200 blogs in my reader (ugh), I'm not an everyday reader (is it okay to admit that?). I like the premise of what you're doing here, and honestly two things that are increasingly important to me are NO WORD VERIFICATION IN COMMENTS and at least a tab to get me back to the main page (and y'all comply with both).
I don't really have anything constructive to offer; overall, I think you've got a great thing goin' over here :).
I want to agree with Kathy. I check up on the blogs that I read daily, MU included, and it't not updated most of the time. I am a mom and know that being a mom is a busy job let alone running a web site, but with the 4 of you, there should be at least one post from someone every day. I would like to see more reviews of products that you don't have to purchase online. Not everyone likes to pay the shipping on an item so they won't purchase it. But if you review an item you can purchase in your big box retailers that would be great. Thanks!
I like how informal your site is, kind of like a get-together with girlfriends. And that you kind of continue over onto your personal blogs, which are all quite different. It makes you very approachable and inclusive.
Hmm... I get your blog through rss feed (google reader) and I find it pretty consistently updated. The only thing I think would be fun is to have something humour related... funny mom stories, or something a little more on the personal side of things so we can get to know the mommies a little better.

I agree with Kathy and Tara both 100%. I would like to see more consistancy with the posting and the contests. I would also like to get to know each of the mommies a little better without having to also visit your sites individually although i do that on occasion. I also have to say that Kathy, I am impressed with your honesty and you really did already say exactly what i was thinking! thanks mommiesunited for all that you are already doing and keep up the great work and the great contests!
The other ladies have covered most of my thoughts. The other thing I really like is that you still participate in other site's activities and Giveaways and that you leave fun comments on other blogs - sometimes in follow up to your contests and sometimes not. Again, it makes you more approachable and make me feel like you are my friends.:)
You do a great job and this is a wonderful concept for a site!
