Well, Hello There!

Hi, there! My name is Lotus (yes, really!) and I'm new at Mommies United. Just wanted to say "hello" and tell you a little about myself.
I was born and raised in NC, but have also lived in Ohio, New York, Switzerland, and Texas. I now call Nashville, TN home. My passions include writing, photography, family, nature, gardening, and food.

After being in school for far too long, I earned a BA and an MA in Psychology and thought I would use those degrees and affinity for understanding people to earn money. Instead, I am using them to try to remain sane as the mother of a very spirited and demanding toddler son, and the wife of a road-touring, guitar-playing husband who is gone for long stretches at a time.

Amongst my arsenal of weapons for staying sane are my rather sarcastic but sometimes sweet websites, Sarcastic Mom and Everyday Lotus. Those are my places to release ponderings, amusements, and a heavy dose of snark. To the benefit of my readers, I post product reviews and host giveaways at Who Doesn't Like Free?, my most recent website. And to remember why I don't really want to throw my son out the window, I maintain a photo-based journal for him at A Braden A Day.

As if all of this weren't enough, I also contribute to Deep South Moms, write for and edit the photography column at Blissfully Domestic and am a 'From the Mouths of Babes' columnist at Quirkee.com
