Most of my kiddos love fruit, but others just never cared for it (unless it was dried), until recently... Fruit bowls, from Dole, are a great way to serve the young ones.
Not sure if your kids are fans of the Madagascar movie, but Marty, our favorite star zebra, will be in a new movie called Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa – coming early this November. You can order your very own Marty Snack Pack - A Limited Edition insulated Marty Snak Pak, perfectly fit for Dole Fruit Bowls for on-the-go snacking fun. It is super cute.
Looking to save time and win money? Check out Dole Way to Snack you can get easy, NO COOK, healthy snacking recipe ideas and vote for your favorite recipe daily to have a chance to win $100 each week!My kiddos are big cereal eaters. They were happy to try General Mills, Inc. new Cocoa Puffs Combos — a cereal combining vanilla and chocolate puffs. The new product marks General Mills’ first flavor extension to the Cocoa Puffs line since the brand launched in 1958.
"Kids love to mix together chocolate and vanilla, two of their favorite flavors," said Scott Dorman, associate marketing manager for General Mills. I know mine certainly like this yummy combination!
Added bonus: Cocoa Puffs Combos have at least 8 grams of whole grain per serving.
Here are some more healthy facts about Yoplait Kids yogurt:
- It has 25 percent less sugar than the average leading kid’s yogurt and contains no artificial sweeteners or flavors.
- Yoplait Kids is an excellent source of calcium and a good source of vitamins A and D.
Make sure you get your $1.50 Off Yoplait coupon to save! Our friends at Cupcake Cuddles have some adorable items. Our favorite is the Flipper Toothbrush Holder. The Flipper toothbrush holder is a fun solution for storing toothbrushes easily and hygienically. The design is simple to use, and easy to maintain. With the toothbrush held by its handle, a gentle pull will “Flip” open the cover and simply pushing it back, the Flipper will close back on itself, neatly housing your toothbrush again!
So, before your kiddos head out the door to catch the bus, make sure they brush their teeth and store their brushes in these adorable holders!
Having my daughter (15 months ago) was one of the best things that has happened
in my life. She is my inspiration and I love being a mommy. But I
soon found out that babies are
expensive! Cupcake Cuddles was started because I wanted to
offer people a place to find affordable baby gifts and more. Our super
soft blankets are a favorite for babies and kids because they offer something
soft to cuddle up with. Another highlight of our store has been the
Flipper toothbrush holders. They are fun, unique and kids love them!
But adults shouldn't be shy...they can get one for themselves too!
Here is a coupon code your readers can use to get 10% off all Flippers at Cupcake Cuddles: back2school (expires 12/31/08)

We always start our mornings off by having things done the night before. We lay out clothes to wear to school the next day including socks and shoes. We even put the hair elastic around the hangers with the hair brush in one shoe. (kayla always loses hers last minute so i started this last year) And her back pack is always put by the door.
ReplyDeleteI wake my kids up a little earlier then they need be so they have plenty of time for breakfast and not feel so rushed in the mornings.

I start the day off right by giving my family a healthy breakfast.
ReplyDeleteWe start each morning by me waking up first. I shower (to wake up), drink a cup of tea and then start making breakfast for the family. After breakfast is ready, I call for everyone to "come and get it". I've taught our kids that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and they need to eat at least 1 fruit serving and drink a cup of milk. If they want, I always make something like toast, eggys, waffles or pancakes, but they first must eat the fruit and drink their milk. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteI get to bed early and wake up a little bit before my girls. That way I have myself ready before they are even awake.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what I have for breakfast (cereal, toast, eggs, leftover spaghetti...) I always make sure to have some fruit and plenty of liquids.

ReplyDeleteHaave a cup of coffee then get on my bike and ride thru town.
ReplyDeleteWe do things the night before, setting out everything- even the breakfast dishes for less stress. We also make sure we wake up and try to be positive, becuase angry ruins everyones day.
ReplyDeletewell... the thing that would start MY day off right would be SLEEPING IN!!! For hours. Without having to do anything. at all. and definitely NOT waking up at 6 am when my kids get up everyday. also not hearing ANY fighting between my two sons.
ReplyDeleteBut since that isn't possible I find that giving my kids lots of warning before we have to go somewhere helps (ok guys, we have to get ready for school in 10 minutes etc).
I shower while my husband makes my coffee and lunch, check on the baby and kiss my husband good-bye.

ReplyDeletewe don't have a "routine" to start our day off right... if we all get up with the alarm clock and make it out the door without forgeting anything... then we did good.... as for me... a quick stop for a cup o joe on way in to work actually relaxes me from morning stress before the next stress hurdle begins :)

When mom's cleaned up, she has her great big glass of OJ - liquid energy! Then all is good:)

ReplyDeleteWe snuggle on the couch as my two year old continues to wake up, then it is breakfast time!
ReplyDeleteI start my day off, by getting up earlier than anyone in the house. I get picked up, pack lunches, set out clothes, and get everything ready for breakfast. This way everything is in order. No chaos and the morning runs smooths. This way the tone for the start of the day is a peaceful, non hetic one.

My daughter's 2nd grade teacher got us hooked on a great system. The kids keep a folder in their backpack. One side is marked "to HOME" and the other is "to SCHOOL." The kids do their homework right out of that folder, or hand me stuff to sign, and it goes right back in on the other side. It keeps the "WHERE'S my report!?!?!?" panic to a minimum in the morning :)
ReplyDeleteI get my day off right by exercising on the tread mill!
ReplyDeleteSinging in the shower!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOne way we start our day out right is by gathering at the kitchen table and having breakfast together. It gives the family time to bond before heading off in different directions.

ReplyDeletecbeargie at yahoo (dot) com
Since I managed to have 6 kids within 7 trs. of age of each other, I learned early to get up at least an hour before the rest of the house. That way I got a start on my day-quiet cup of coffee, first load of laundry in, picked up the previous nights accumulation, and a few minutes to myself before I'm too busy to think.
ReplyDeleteWe lay out all the needed items the night before. Then, I get up 45 minutes earlier than everyone else, shower and get myself together. It is much easier to handle the morning rush when I'm ready to walk out the door rather than in my bathrobe. Then I make breakfast smoothies and raise the troops! That's our morning routine.
ReplyDeleteA kiss for my grandson Noah (who is 1) and an XL Dunkin Donut's Coffee (light NO sugar!)

I have been waking up to the sweet sounds of Alex talking to daddy while they are at the computer looking at pictures of animals. Nothing like the sound of a high pitch toddler trying to communicate, after awhile I get up to him saying "mom mom mom mom"... The best way to start any great day!

ReplyDeleteGet up early and eat breakfast in silence. It may be the last quiet time I get all day.
ReplyDeleteI always pick my clothes out the day before to give myself more time! I also try to say a quick prayer before I even get out of bed! :)
ReplyDeleteWe start the day off right by having breakfast. It may be a granola bar or yogurt, but it's something! I also try to lay out clothes for me and the boys the night before, and have backpacks ready to go. Most importantly, I try to read a devotional and spend some time focusing on the Lord to start my day out right!
