  1. The best cupcake I had was last year for my b'day. It wasn't anything spectacular, but my husband and two daughters made me cupcakes with yellow cake mix and chocolate frosting and sprinkles. It was the best because I didn't have to cook them!

  2. The best cupcake I ever had wasn't the tastiest, that's for sure! I was teaching the 4th grade and for a Halloween Party we made spooky black cat cupcakes. Chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, two red-hots cadies for eyes, an upside down candy-corn for a nose, and small pieces of super thin black licorice ropes arranged like kitty whiskers. They didn't taste all that great but they were the most fun to eat...because they were the most fun to MAKE!!!

  4. The best one I ever had was the ones I made for my son's first birthday. The cake was made of dark chocolate. Then I made a homemade marshmellow cream. I swirled that on top of the cake kind of like a cone. Then I dipped it in chocolate. It was SO good! I thank Martha Stewart for that recipe. :)

  5. Hi, In 1994, we hosted a Swiss exchange student. We grew to love Heidi as a family member. Yes, her name was Heidi, she lived in the Swiss Alps and her family had milk cows!!!!! My oldest son was in kindergarten and Heidi and I decided to make Halloween Party cupcakes for his class. She was much more crafty than me and she did most of the decorating. We made them into "Spider" cupcakes. I remember that the legs were made from the very thin black licorice whips. They ended up looking fantastic. We laughed so much while making them. We have a picture of Heide and the spider cupcakes. We still keep in touch with her to this day. Thanks,Cindi

  6. The best cupcake I ever had was actually pretty basic. I guess I'm a simple girl. But it was a yellow cake cupcake with chocolate frosting and sprinkles (of course). It was delicious in it's simplicity. And now Ben & Jerry's has an ice cream that tastes just like it...it's called Cake Batter and it's my new biggest temptation in the whole world! I'm drooling just thinking about it....mmmmmmm!!!

  8. The best cupcake I ever had was from my son's birthday party a few years ago. We had purchased cupcakes from the bakery that had been frosted and placed to look like a starburst. The frosting was so thick, it was as tall as the cucpcake itself!

  11. The best cupcake I've ever had...well, it was an incredibly moist vanilla cake, and it even had vanilla beans mixed in the batter, with a rich buttercream icing that was tinted bright pink and sprinkled with coconut on the top. It was not only beautiful to look at, but delicious!

  14. Would have to be the cupcakes that my oldest daughter made with her father when I was pregnant with my middle child. I did the cake part and was so ill I left the icing for them to do. DH went to the local bakery and got the best chocolate and vanilla icing and came home and followed my directions. Half Chocolate and half vanilla (I wanted 12 of each) but we ended up with 24 50% chocolate and 50% vanilla on each) I was livid at first, but laughed and ate lots of the best cupcakes after we went out and purchased at the bakery the correct ones!

  21. The best cupcake I ever had was made by my mother when I was a child. She made them as special treats for us after we brought home a good report card or had a big accomplishment at school. It was a dark moist chocolate and had a devine cream cheese and chocolate chip center. She topped it with homemade chocolate frosting and sprinkles.

  22. Best cupcake I've ever had was a double fudge chocolate frosting cupcake! I love chocolate.. I was also preggo at the time so I think that's why I loved it more!

  23. The best cupcake I ever had was at a wedding! The cake was this incredible "vanilla silk" and was absolutely delicious on its own... but then they added this amazing icing that was a combination of real whipped cream and butter cream frosting all in swirls of the brides colours (pink and sage green). To top it off each cupcake had a small intricate sugared flower on top. Honestly they were almost too beautiful to eat. But I ate mine and I have longed for another one ever since.

    mmmmmmmm.

  26. My 2 year old daughter and I just made cupcakes for her preschool teacher's birthday party at school. We decorated them to look like daisies using yellow frosting, marshmallows for the petals, and a mini Oreo center. Some were a little lopsided, but it was a lot of fun watching her try so hard to make them. She was so proud she had helped me that when we arrived at school with the cupcakes, she told everyone to look what "Me and my mommy made". It was a priceless memory.

I really need a cupcake carrier since I took mine in old metal baking pans.

  35. The best cupcake I ever had was a bunny one that my then 8 yr old son made. We were playing in the kitchen and he asked "what makes a great baker?" I told him that the ability to follow instructions and the willingness to go out on a limb and try new things; improvise. He improvised a basic recipe and substituted mint for vanilla, whole wheat for white flour and a few more changes and voila!
Since I know he will not read this, I can say...it was horrible. It was all I could do to get through that cupcake. BUT, it was the best cupcake I ever had because I told him it was so and ever since, he has ranted and raved about that recipe and developed a love for baking! He is most definitely not afraid in the kitchen and it is wonderful!

I don't know the name of this place, but I do remember the giant cupcakes! They were so big, they were to be eaten with a fork, and I would order them with vanilla ice cream! Yum! Whenever I would visit, the first place I wanted to see was the giant cupcake house, as I called it:)

  63. The best cupcake I've eaten sounded absolutely disgusting! Chocolate mayonaise. I couldn't imagine putting mayo in and ruining all that good chocolate, but I didn't taste the mayo. They were so moist and bursting with chocolate. Now I think I'm going to have to go look up the recipe, because I'm getting a serious chocolate urge thinking about them.

  70. O.K, so I was on the six week body makeover diet for about 8 weeks and you can't have ANY sugar except for what's in fruit. Needless to say there were cupcakes at a family picnic I went to and I went in for the kill. After not having sugar for 8 weeks I sware it was like tasting heaven. They were your basic cupcake, but I've never tasted another like those (oh yah...more than 1) that day.

  71. Seriously, the best cupcake I've ever had was from a batch of vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting and sprinkles that I made this past January to celebrate my daughter's first birthday! She refused to even taste them, but they were so good! I can't take the credit, I got the recipes for the cup cakes and the frosting off Martha Stewart.com and I highly recommend both! My cupcakes didn't resemble Martha's - I didn't have a cupcake pan so I just spooned the mix into the cupcake holders and, during baking, they splayed out rather dramatically, but they still tasted soo good!

  76. When I was in college I became addicted to hostess chocoloate cupcakes. I would get a three pack every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday before my 8am Chemistry lecture. I would eat one right away, save one for after lunch the the third while studying late at night. I decided to give them up for Lent, 40 days without a single Hostess cupcake (or any cupckae.) I dreamed of those cupcakes all of the time! On Easter morning my boyfriend of the time brought me a basket of Hostess cupcakes. I ripped the package open and had a bite. It was hevean. The moist cake, the creamy white filling, the fundgy top. Perfection!! Now I know they are not the best cupcakes but at that moment it was the best cupcake I have ever eaten, I mean I had been dreaming of that bite for 40 days and 40 nights!!
I have not had one in over five years and now I have a craving!

The best cupcake I ever had was just about a week ago, I had a friend visiting from another school for about a week and one morning i woke up to her making my roomies and I cupcakes for breakfast. Not just any cupcakes though, first she put turkey in the bottom of the cupcake pan, than just cracked an egg in it, sprinkled cheese on top, than baked it. It was AMAZING, may not sound good, but it really is.

And since I have known Moni's aunt since I was like 12 we are having her make cupcakes for Teneil's bridal shower as well. I pretty much told Teneil she had no choice in this matter LOL. This would be a great item to send extra cupcakes home the bride to be.

  93. The best cupcake I ever had was one from a tabletop full of them my son's high school sweetheart and I made spelling out a congratualtions for winning a national track championship. It was at a local park and we had to fight the AZ heat trying to melt the icing and the flies wanting to partake. The look on his face and delight of both him and my younger daughter was well worth it all. They were a variety of cakes and icings as we used what we had in the house.

  98. My husband is from England and LOVES "Fairy Cakes" (a.k.a cupcakes to us Americans)! His Aunty makes them from scratch and at a moments notice whenever requested. Being a new wife and trying to live up to Aunty Mary, I made my box mix cupcakes with canned frosting and they were a hit! He couldn't believe how good they were and then he asked..."how did you make these?" I thought about taking the credit but didn't want to hide the boxes for the next 50 years, so I fessed up! So I guess the best are made from the heart (box or no box).
